About the Practice and Fees

Shannon Renzulli, LCSW, MA

I obtained my undergraduate degree in psychology from UCLA prior to earning two graduate degrees in clinical psychology and clinical social work from Columbia University. I am a professional member of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF), and the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA).

My counseling style is warm, open, and compassionate. I take a nonjudgmental approach and aim to create a safe space for my clients to work on their goals at their own pace. I believe in treating each person I work with as an individual, and aim to work collaboratively with each client to empower them to identify existing strengths, develop new and healthy coping skills, improve their quality of life, and find new ways to work through life’s challenges.

Fees and Insurance

Payments are expected at the time of service, and can be made by check, cash, debit card, credit card, or HSA/FSA. A credit card must be kept on file to secure your appointments, although you may opt to use a different form of payment anytime. I am considered an out-of-network provider with insurance companies, which means that I do not bill or contract with any health insurance plans. Many insurance companies offer some of out-of-network benefits for psychotherapy under Mental Health or Behavioral Health, which means you can submit claims and be reimbursed directly by your insurance provider. Upon request, I can provide a detailed monthly invoice to you which you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. I encourage you to contact your insurance provider directly to ensure that you understand the procedures for submitting claims prior to starting therapy.

What are the costs?

Phone consultation (15 minutes): no cost

50 minute appointment (standard): $180

Initial intake appointment (80 minutes): $265

*I have a limited number of available appointments to see clients at a reduced cost based on financial need.

Why see an out-of-network provider?

Being out-of-network means that we have the ability to develop a more individualized plan for therapy based on your specific clinical needs and utilize evidence-based treatments without the restriction of session frequency, length, and location. This may result in lower out-of-pocket costs long term.

Cancellation and no show policies

I respectfully request a minimum of 48 hours notice to cancel your appointment. If you do not cancel your appointment at least 48 hours ahead of time or do not show up for your appointment, you will be charged $100 for the first time, and the full cost of the appointment for any subsequent late cancellations or no shows. This is to ensure that I am able to offer services to others should you be unable to attend.
